So much to do…

Wow… for years I have wanted to take this information in my head and pack it into videos that other people can watch and learn from.  It sounds simple enough, but dang, there is soo much to do!!!  And I have to do it all in the evening and weekends after I’m done with my regular work that pays the bills.  I’m not sure about when I will have this stuff finished… but here’s a list of what I’m working on:

1. Editing the 50 hours of video for the modeling DVD down to 3-5 hours of watchable video.  I’m working on a couple different editing styles.  I hope to have something soon for you all to watch so I can figure out what works and what doesn’t.
2. Finishing up the texturing and detailing of the character.  Lots of ZBrush, Mudbox and Photoshop work left to do.
3. Making lots of little free videos.  I’ve written up a pile of questions and answers and am producing them into 1-2 minute videos.  I’ve also got lots of ideas on Tips and Tricks videos, Mini-Model Tutorials, and a series of small videos called “Teaching a Ten Year Old”.

It’s my Birthday!!!!

I turned 33 today.  Here’s what I want for my birthday…

1. A more peaceful world
2. More room in my head for more information.  Every time I cram in something new it seems that something else falls out the other ear.  I’ve been learning Python over the past year and there is still so much more to learn
3. Some cake and a board game with my wife and kids.  We’ve been playing one called Munchkins and it’s pretty awesome!!!!
4. Lastly, I just want to get these videos done.  Every weekend I get a bit closer.  Keep checking back for more information on what I’ve been working on.

Here’s a first pass at laying down some textures in Mudbox and getting a feel for the brushes on this character. Skin over muscle is very subtle and hard to sculpt into the model. But I’m having fun

This is Thorg.  Thorg is a character from a short story I wrote called “Honey Do”.  I’ve wanted to make a 3D model of him for years and I’m finally able to build him and record it for all of you to watch.  The DVDs will be available soon.  I’ll keep you posted on how things are going.
